Basis of Faith

The following is our Basis of Faith, which outlines our broad beliefs as a church accompanied by the passages from scripture that we base these beliefs upon.

We believe in…

As a Baptist church we encourage new believers to make a public declaration of their faith through Baptism. We also encourage believers that make us their spiritual home to join us in formal membership to become involved in the decision making and running of the church.

Mission Partners

We partner with a number of outside groups and parachurch organisations to collaborate in furthering the Gospel: through prayer, mission, and financial support. For more information, follow the links below.

The Baptist Union of Great Britain

As a Baptist church we are part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain. The term ‘Baptists Together’ is used to describe the movement of nearly 2000 local churches supported by staff in 13 regional associations, five colleges and three specialist teams based in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

BMS World Mission

BMS World Mission is a Christian mission organisation, working in around 30 countries on four continents. Their workers and partners strive every day to make Jesus known and share the full life he brings. From legal work to surgery, food projects to education, BMS works with local partners, providing help where it is most needed, among the most marginalised and least evangelised people in the world.

Africa Inland Mission (AIM)

AIM is a Christian mission sending agency with a heart for Africa’s peoples. Their desire is to see the worship of Jesus Christ spread across the continent of Africa – through individual lives fully committed to him, and collectively through Christ-centred church communities.

Wycliffe Bible Translators

Wycliffe Bible Translators is a mission agency with a big vision: A world where everyone can know Jesus through the Bible. They serve local partners worldwide as they bring God’s word to communities in the language which speaks to them best.

Alpha Course

On occasion we run courses for those interested in finding out more about Jesus. Alpha is a safe place to learn about different topics of the Christian faith with others. There’s no pressure to talk and no follow up, plus it’s free. Everyone’s welcome. No matter your background or beliefs.

Legal

GDPR

We take data protection very seriously. Below is a link to our GDPR policy, which includes our commitments to handling data and what to do if you have concerns.

Safeguarding

As a church we interact with a lot of vulnerable people; both children or adults, and as such we feel the responsibility to make sure that everyone is kept safe. Below is a link to our safeguarding policy which outlines our intentions and procedures to ensure that happens.

Registered Charity Number

Currently, the church is a charity by exemption. We are in the process of becoming a fully registered charity. When that happens, here is where you will find our registered charity number.

Copyright Licence

We are registered with CCLI (No. 3815) as we use a lot of music as part of our worship, and media for use in sermons, talks, and children’s work.
